The Premier

Picture

His Excellentness,
Daniel Anderson,
OCW, Premier of Sirocco
Inaugurated 4 November 2010

Sirocco is led by a Premier, who is the head of both government and state. Due to the nature of micronational governments, which can easily become inactive (and often do), the Premier is granted broad-ranging powers to ensure that the nation actively continues. Sirocco's current Premier is Daniel Anderson, the nation's founder.

An experienced statesman, Anderson led Andersonia and been a high-ranking official in the Peeblish government. He has also held offices in the former Kingdom (now Commonwealth) of Zealandia, the Organisation of Active Micronations, the Conservative Union, and TASPAC.

Anderson hails from the Northland region of New Zealand, where he was born in 1994. During his school years he gained an interest in politics, which first manifested itself in the Maran District in the early to mid-2000s, and later evolved into the Kingdom of the Peebles, Andersonia, and finally Sirocco. He is a staunch anti-Communist, and has gained a reputation for being one of the most committed, but level-headed, right-leaning members of the MicroWiki community.
H
e heads the liberal-conservative Federal Party, which has been in government since 5 November 2010 (21 Grable 65).

Swearing the Oath

To serve as Premier, one must swear the 'Oath of Integrity' (formerly the 'Oath of Honesty'). Led by the Vice-Premier, the Premier must swear (with one hand atop a Bible or physical copy of the Oath):
"
I do faithfully swear that I shall execute this office to the best of my ability and that I shall serve the nation and the people of this nation to the best of my ability, whilst preserving the integrity of the Federal Commonwealth of Sirocco."
If an incoming Premier refuses to read the Oath, they are immediately dismissed and ineligible to be chosen as Premier again. And if the Vice-Premier alters any part of the Oath (genuine mistakes excepted), then they too are dismissed.
